35mm Minolta SLR

Who knows alot about old camera hardware? My precious SLR has fucked itself, for what reason I do not know. I've taken it apart. I can't take photos with it, when I look through the view finder it's black.
I thought it might be the battery, but my camera is telling me that the battery is fine.
I might buy a new one just in case.
I haven't dropped it or anything, my SLR is seriously my baby.
